Certifications for Professional level are CCNP (Cisco Certificated Network Professional), CCNP Wireless certification, CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional), CCIP (Cisco Certificated Internetwork Professional), CCSP (Cisco Certificated Security professional), and CCVP( Cisco Certified Voice Professional) .
CCNP show individual’s knowledge required to install, configure and troubleshoot converged local and wide area network with 100 to 500 or more nodes. A valid CCNA certification is prerequisite. To get CCNP, candidate should pass 642-901 BSCI(Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks) , 642-812 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks), 642-825 ISCW (Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks) & 642-845 ONT (Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks), or 642-892 Composite, 642-825 ISCW, and 642-845 ONT.
CCNP Wireless certification certifies individual’s skills on designing, implementing, and operating Cisco Wireless network and mobility infrastructures. Valid CCNA Wireless Certification or any CCIE Certification can act as a pre-requisite. The required exams are 642-731 CUWSS (Conducting Cisco Unified Wireless Site Survey), 642-741 IUWVN (Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Voice Networks), 642-746 IUWMS (Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Mobility Services) and 642-736 IAUWS (Implementing Advanced Cisco Unified Wireless Security).
CCDP validate individual’s advanced knowledge of network design concepts and principles. Valid CCNA and CCDA are prerequisites of CCDP. The required exams are 642-901 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks), 642-812 BCMSN (Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks), 642-873 ARCH (Design Cisco Network Service Architecture), or 642-892 Composite(BSCI &BCMSN), 642-873 ARCH.
CCIP confirms individual’s advanced knowledge and skills required to manage service provider infrastructures. Valid CCNA is required for CCIP. Candidate should pass exams 642-901 BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks), or 642-892 Composite, 642-642 QOS (Implementing Cisco Quality of Service), 642-661 BGP (Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers), 642-611 MPLS (Implementing Cisco MPLS) or 642-892 Composite, 642-642 QOS, 642-691 BGP+MPLS (Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers & Implementing Cisco MPLS).
CCSP shows individual’s skills to secure and manage network infrastructures to protect productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs. CCNA Security or CCNA+SND are the prerequisites of CCSP. To get the certification, one has to pass 3 required exams: 642-504 SNPS (Securing Networks with Cisco Routers and Switches), 642-524 SNAF (Securing Network with ASA Foundation), 642-533 IPS (Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System), and 1 elective exam: 642-591 CANAC (Implementing Cisco NAC Appliance), or 642-545 MARS (Implementing Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis and Response System), or 642-515 SNAA (Securing Networks with ASA Advanced)
CCVP validates individual’s skill in integrating into underlying network architectures, and implementing, operating configuring and troubleshooting a converged IP network. CCNA Voice or any CCIE certification can act as a prerequisite. There are 2 paths that can be taken to achieve CCVP. One path for Cisco Unified Communication Manager: 642-436 CVOICE (Cisco Voice), 642-446 CIPT1 (Implementing Cisco Unified Communication Manager Part 1), 642-642 QoS (Quality of Service), 642-456 CIPT2, 642-426 TUC (Troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communication System); the other path for Cisco Unified Call Manager: 642-642 QoS, 642-436 CVOICE, 642-426 TUC, 642-444 CIPT4.1, 642-453 GWGK (Implementing Cisco Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers.
All certifications of Cisco professional level are valid for 3 years. To recertified, one should pass any 642 exams or any CCIE or CCDE written exam before the certification expiration date.
